IT Support Engineer - MCSA - SQL - VmWare - Switching and Routing

My client is seeking an IT Support Engineer to join their IT Infrastructure department.

Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, the purpose of this role is to ensure that IT operations systems are correctly commissioned, maintained and operated so that it continues to meet my client's ongoing business and production objectives.

Based at their HQ in North Kent this is a varied and rewarding role where proactivity and initiative are always required. Core Responsibilities You will be required to commission and maintain the operational IT infrastructure at fixed, event, cloud, co-located and remote sites. You will also be required to support Formula 1's commitments to Race Events, Test sessions and any other additional events as appropriate.

In doing so you will:

* Commission and maintain any IT operational, Test and Development systems and services

* Be responsible for IT operational systems and project manage appropriate changes and additions to the IT operational infrastructure

* Specify and help design upgrades and development plans to the IT systems and services * Liaise with equipment and software vendors to specify maintenance contracts and SLA's.

* Assist with budget preparation including providing system diagrams and justification rationale.

* Provide an adequate disaster recovery / business continuity plan for operational systems

* Take ownership of escalated incidents, ensuring root causes are found and resolved * Provide a secure IT operating environment, ensuring all systems are compliant with current data protections regulations (e.g., GDPR) and current financial compliance (e.g., SOX)

* Produce system reports and statistics, including root cause analysis reports when appropriate

* Virtualisation systems and services such as Hyper-V, VMware, or Kubernetes

* Traditional server, HCI, workstation and virtual machines

* Data Storage, Data Transfer, Virtual and Physical Tape Libraries.

* Microsoft® Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP etc. * Azure AD, ADFS, Conditional Access, SSO etc.

* Cloud based Infrastructure Systems and services

* Server Operating Systems, SQL, server application toolsets

* Reporting Services, Integration Services, Analysis Services

* Anti-Virus, Deployment and Backup Applications

* Web-Services, Portals and Data Feeds In this role you will need to be available to work on systems outside of usual 'Business Hours' and travel when required to race events, and / or to lead the IT race operations.

The right candidate would have a pro-active and can-do attitude, you will be highly organised, have exceptional communication skills and be flexible in your approach.

Essential: * Degree, HND/C in IT related Subject (or relevant experience)

* MCSA Windows Server

* MCSA SQL Server * Hardware configuration and installation

* Virtualisation and Cloud based solutions

* Microsoft Server and Desktop O/S's

* SQL Database management and deployments

* AD, Group Policy, DNS

* Storage Solutions

* Available work on IT systems outside of usual 'Business Hours', both planned and unplanned.

* Ability to travel within the UK and Internationally
