Pearson Whiffin are currently recruiting for a Teacher of Performing Arts with strong key stage three to five experience to fill a permanent position within a Secondary school in East Kent. The ideal Secondary teacher will hold UK Qualified teaching status in Performing Arts and will maintain a high standard of teaching level in order to meet and exceed teaching and learning targets. Music Technology as an additional subject would be an advantage.

Responsibilities of the Performing Arts Teacher

  • Teach secondary KS3 - KS5 Performing Arts to ages 11-18.
  • Promote and push student's way beyond their own potential to achieve higher than expected grades.
  • Plan, mark and assess within the schools guidelines.
  • Attend monthly staff CPD sessions to share ideas of outstanding teaching.
  • Implement and follow school behaviour management policy.

Requirements of the Performing Arts Teacher

  • UK Qualified teaching status in KS3 - 5
  • Experience of teaching secondary Performing Arts and extensive subject knowledge
  • Excellent behaviour management experience
  • Shown commitment to learning and development of pupils
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff, parents and students
