Assistant Project Manager

£30K - £40K, London/Maidstone

I am currently looking for a Junior/Assistant Project Manager to work for a growing M&E contractor based in Maidstone. The majority of their jobs are across London so the successful applicant will be expected to travel to London when required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess project, to complete site-specific RAMS and relating Health and Safety documentation
  • Health and Safety folder to be on every project and updated weekly
  • Ensure operatives adhere to strict PPE requirements
  • Manage and coordinate small scale construction projects from conception to completion and support the Project Manager on larger scale projects
  • Assist in the procurement of labour teams, with the focus on better buying, for projects and ensure they have all the relevant information required
  • Ensure financial buying sheet is filled out on every project
  • Projects are delivered in accordance with Client agreed budgetary and programme requirements and ensure that all projects are being effectively delivered to the Client's satisfaction
  • Assist in the analysis, management and mitigation of on-going risks and issues and produce mitigation plans where necessary
  • Be initial point of escalation for project issues to the Project Manager
  • Innovation and solutions are always offered
  • Liaise with the Project Manager to place all sub-contractor and supplier Purchase Orders on the project
  • Assist the Project Manager to raise sub-contractor payment certificates for sub-contractor to invoice against
  • Sign off sub-contractor and supplier invoices
  • Understand project when handed over, reading through all drawings and specifications to make sure LTME comply and satisfy our clients
  • Assist in the submittal of all RFIs, Technical submittals and construction drawings to client for approval
  • Attend weekly on-site PM meetings
  • Hold Tool Box talks
  • Hold monthly Environmental Tool Box Talks
  • Send weekly H&S update reports and site audit reports to the client
  • Assist in the management of access equipment suppliers and ensure all equipment is off hired at the end of the project
  • Assist in the preparation of LTME monthly applications for the Project Manager to send to clients for approval
  • Chase Payment Certificates from clients and send to the Office Manager to invoice once received
  • Build good relationships with clients, ensuring these are maintained to a high level which produce future work
  • Attendance at internal / external seminars and courses to keep technical knowledge relevant and up to date
  • Uses technical knowledge to offer best value / solution to client
  • Spend sufficient time in the office completing paperwork 1-2 days per week as required
  • Close liaison with the Project Manager and Directors to develop a professional team orientated ethos
  • Regular attendance at all internal / external meetings
  • Saving all documentation to the company share in the correct folders
  • Assist in the compilation of operation manuals to send to the client

Essential Qualifications

  • Educated to A Level standard, preferably with City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or working towards technical qualifications
  • Strong communication skills at all levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Show initiative with regards to improving systems managed under the role
  • The ability to prioritise your own workload
