Subject Leader for Maths - January 2020

This secondary school based in Central Kent seek a specialist Maths teacher to lead their Maths department This school is on a course for a good Ofsted and so the successful candidate should be driven to succeed and prepared to work in a high pressure results driven environment. You will be rewarded with the support of an outstanding leadership team, the space and freedom to perform to the best of your ability and the finances needed to upskill and resource your department. Maths is taught from year 7 to year 13 at KS3, KS4 and KS5 (GCSE and A-Level). At GCSE, this school is working to the new 1-9 framework and so a teacher who understands the requirements there will be very important. The maths curriculum is taught using sets, determined by ability. Lessons are creative and engaging for students, differentiated to ability levels.

This good and still improving school require a candidate in Maths with leadership aspirations or experience. The successful teacher will teach KS3 and KS4 and be offered the opportunity to take responsibility as HOD. All teachers at this school are expected to teach engaging lessons using a range of media and technology ensuring maximum access by a mixed ability class. While students ability will range, all are encouraged to achieve their maximum potential. Intervention specialists are in place to support when needed.
