This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a successful company in the Mid Kent area as a Procurement Inventory Stores Manager

Working in conjunction with the Head of Procurement, the Inventory and Stores Manager shall be responsible for implementing and monitoring all strategic inventory, purchasing and stock control functions

Your duties will include:

  • To manage the Inventory and Stores team, ensuring timely processing of stock replenishment orders and delivery of required goods and services
  • Maintaining optimal stock levels
  • Contribute to budget planning and cost management objectives of key stakeholders and own department.
  • Support in the implementation of the Procurement Purchasing and Stores policy, processes and guidelines as may be directed by the Head of Procurement
  • Providing system support and co-managing stock-take procedures
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Shall carry out periodic appraisals and performance management reviews for the staff report
  • To deal proactively with enquiries and complaints from both internal and external stakeholders in relation to the Inventory and Stores function as well as the Procurement and Stores department as a whole

The successful candidate will be/have:

  • Supervisory experience and managing a small team
  • Buyer/Procurement/purchasing experience & stock and stores
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Inspiring and successful leader, able to manage change
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent IT skills, including Word and Excel
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written
  • Able to work independently as well as being able to train other members of staff
  • Up to date knowledge of Purchasing, Stores and Stock Control
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workload
