Rare opportunity for an experienced and knowledgeable Product and Purchasing Manager to join my client, a manufacturing company based in Mid Kent. For this role I am looking for someone with a background within Joinery - this is a pre-requisite for the role.

This is a really exciting chance for someone to make a real impact on the success and growth of a business in a time of expansion.

The role consists of:

  • Working with senior management to create and implement a supply chain strategy which maximises profit in all markets including overseas
  • Setting up processes and procedures, negotiating contracts
  • Ensuring that demand is met in a timely fashion with materials providing value for money
  • Travelling to meet suppliers including at short notice and overseas
  • Pre-empting problems and ensuring they are dealt with
  • Taking ownership of quality control
  • Managing and monitoring supplier performance
  • Data analysis and reporting
  • Any other duties as required

To be considered for this Product and Purchasing Manager role you will have/be:

  • Educated to degree level with a 2:1 or above in a related subject
  • Strong Supply Chain Management experience working within joinery - this is essential
  • The ability to assimilate technical information
  • Numerate and able to analyse data effectively
  • Experienced in setting up processes
  • First class interpersonal skills
  • A great negotiator
  • Able to spot an opportunity
  • A strong strategist, with a hands-on style of working
  • A proven track record in cost saving
