Job Title: Senior Collections & Recoveries Manager

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 plus bonus

Location: Mid Kent

Pearson Whiffin Recruitment are delighted to be working with a great financial business in Medway who are looking for a highly experienced Senior Collections Manager to join their team. Reporting to the Collections Director your sole purpose is to manage the collection of accounts through the implementation and supervision of effective and compliant recovery strategies in conjunction with the Team Leaders who are responsible for the Collections team.

Duties include:

  • Manage the company's portfolio of clients to optimise recoveries; returns on capital and to minimise losses by delivering outcome focussed collections and work-out strategies.
  • Ensure that key mortgage arrears life cycle events are effectively monitored and managed.
  • Develop and maintain effective, compliant borrower contact strategies.
  • Ensure that collections policies and procedures are up to date and reflective of current practice.
  • Line manage and coach all direct reports, including all aspects of performance management, development, conduct, sickness management, appraisals, employee administration and recruitment.
  • Take ownership and deliver effective results from the collections and recovery team based in India through effective oversight.
  • Develop, own and monitor effective relationships with key third party suppliers adhering to the Group's vendor management process.
  • Represent Senior Management as required and attend where necessary the weekly Collections and Risk Forums and working groups.

The successful candidate will have

  • At least 5 years Previous experience managing end to end collections within the financial services industry is essential
  • Solid experience in managing and guiding a team
  • Experience in managing outcome focussed work-out strategies
  • Detailed understanding of professional negligence and shortfall management processes
  • Intermediate skills in respect of listening, coaching and people management
  • Highly IT literate to include Word and Excel to a high level
