We can only be as good as the team we have built, so please see below to find out more about the consultants that make us who we are today.
I began my career working within the Small Business Services division of an international bank in the City.
Realising that my desire to help people wasn’t being fulfilled, I decided to change careers and joined a national high street recruitment agency in 2001.
I worked my way up and quickly became a key member of the team. My determination to match the right candidates with the roles that my clients entrusted to me led me to become one of the firm’s top recruiters, establishing relationships with clients that I still enjoy today.
Believing that a better service could be provided and armed with invaluable industry insight and experience, I made the decision to start up my own agency. In 2004 I partnered with my trusted colleague Gaynor Whiffin and so Pearson Whiffin was born.
A lot has changed since those early days, we’ve grown in number, developed the agency into a group of specialist divisions and become one of the most respected agencies in Kent. As Chairman, I put the success of Pearson Whiffin down to the founding principles that we ‘always provide a first class service from start to finish’ and operate honestly and openly with both candidates and clients alike, principles that I continue to in-still in the entire team at Pearson Whiffin.
I’ve been working in the recruitment industry since 2002 and experienced almost instant success. I started out working for a global agency, finishing 2nd in the UK for performance and billings, covering the Kent market.
Promotion quickly followed and, as Business Manager, I headed up 5 specialist divisions; Accountancy, HR, Marketing, Purchasing and Business support and grew the business into a Top 10 UK Branch and Number 1 in the South region.
In 2011, Rob and Gaynor approached me to join Pearson Whiffin as a Business Partner to set up the Accounts & Finance Division. There was an instant rapport between the three of us and a shared focus to deliver an honest first class service.
After growing the division to a reputable, well known Accountancy & Finance specialist in the Kent market, in 2015 it was unanimously decided that I join Rob & Gaynor as Partner in the group business.
I work as a ‘hands-on’ active Director, to ensure our staff have all the support and guidance they need, giving our candidates and clients the best possible recruitment experience.
I am an experienced and successful Recruiter, having worked in the industry since 2006.
I embarked upon my career in recruitment in the West End for an independent agency specialising in recruiting both temporary and permanent business support staff into the Social Housing and not-for-profit sector. I then made the decision to move into the Kent marketplace following the successful completion of an English Literature degree at Kent University, so took a role with a well-known mid-Kent based agency as a consultant specialising in the supply of temporary Business Support staff before finally joining the Pearson Whiffin Recruitment Group in 2013. The Group’s customer-centric and honest values are what appealed to me and they haven’t disappointed. My passion is providing the best service possible to both client and candidates. I believe in a truly consultative and professional approach at all times, taking pride in my record of retaining long term client and candidate loyalty which is upheld by consistently delivering an exceptionally genuine service.
Since joining Pearson Whiffin, I have successfully built a hybrid desk from scratch within Business Support, and as such supply permanent, temporary and fixed term recruitment solutions across Kent and London. I am able to recruit from entry through to Executive levels and welcome any consultations regarding appointments at Board Level.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for a confidential chat about your career, or a conversation about how I might be able to help you source the talent you need.
I am a passionate recruiter with nearly 12 years experience in the education market. I started my career early in 2006 as a graduate trainee recruiting teachers for secondary and SEND schools in East Kent. Over a number of years I was fortunate to work up to regional manager role in a large multi-national recruiter in Kent.
In 2017 I joined Pearson Whiffin Recruitment to lead its relatively young Education division. I am proud to work in a business which shares my passion and beliefs; honest, transparent, engaging and consultative recruitment. I recruit teachers, cover supervisors, tutors and coaches for secondary schools across Kent from Ramsgate to Tunbridge Wells and from Ashford to Medway. I offer a full, open and upfront service to candidates willingly lending my experience to guide you through the process of supply teaching or finding your next permanent or contract role.
Schools, who have worked with me over my 12 years, will know that I offer a solution focused approach to your supply or permanent recruitment needs. I will actively seek out the best teachers for your schools or ensure that I offer the best solution available. I support schools with their daily supply needs but also cover long-term absence, maternity cover and permanent vacancies. In addition to recruitment my passion is supporting schools through their careers programs. I work with around 12 schools in Kent delivering bespoke CV and interview workshops to students in Y11 and Y13. I believe that to truly understand what a good teacher is you should put yourself in their shoes and this work allows me a small window into their world whilst at the same time adding value to a schools careers programs and helping students realise their ambitions.
If you are a school or an education specialist candidate and you want an open, no obligation conversation about our services or about what your next step should be contact me today.
I started out as a Mechanical & Electrical Resourcer for a well known international recruitment company in 2017. Here, I achieved a promotion within the first 3 months. After my first year as consultant I had developed fantastic relationships with both candidates and clients throughout the sector.
After establishing my recruitment career, I felt the best move was to join a well reputed independent consultancy where I am able to offer a more tailored and personal service and as such, joined Pearson Whiffin in 2019 as a consultant within their successful Business Support Team.
Here I run our busy Temp desk. The best part of my job is meeting both candidates and clients face to face; as I believe to provide a fantastic recruitment service you have to know your people.
I started my career in Customer Service and Administration before discovering my true calling in Recruitment! I am a naturally caring person who genuinely enjoys helping people, so offering my expertise in assisting candidates with their next career move is always extremely rewarding! I take real pride in providing a top level service focused on quality, which is why I felt Pearson Whiffin was the right agency for me. I am a strong believer in the mantra ‘honesty is the best policy’ and thoroughly enjoy building long lasting relationships with all my clients. I put my full time and focus into both my client and candidates always ensuring their needs are being met, that I am listening to what they require and always on hand to offer a warm, professional service.
I joined The Pearson Whiffin Recruitment Group in October 2014 to be part of their rapidly growing IT Recruitment Team.
I am a very analytical, full life-cycle Recruiter dealing with both Contract and Permanent IT recruitment services for clients in Kent, London and across the UK.
I work very closely with a variety of clients, ranging in industry from banking, legal, insurance, IT managed services and software houses. Over the last 2 years I have placed 1st Line Support Analysts, Graduate Developers and Junior Test Analysts to Global Programme Managers, Business Analysts and Executive Level Management.
I work in a conscientious and forthright manner, with a focus on achieving successful, long-term relationships with clients from all backgrounds, as well as delivering the very best candidates available.
I joined The Pearson Whiffin Recruitment Group in October 2016 to be part of and manage our growing IT Recruitment Team.
I have been in recruitment for over 20 years covering both Contract and Permanent IT recruitment services for clients in Kent, London and across the UK.
My main experience over the last 10 years has been within professional services, however I also work with a number of financial, IT Managed Services and Software Houses. The last few years has seen me concentrating on the senior market placing Project Managers, Business Analysts, IT Managers, Heads of IT and IT Directors as well as Executive Level Management.
I believe in working with both clients and candidates long-term, achieving this through honesty & integrity.
I started working in Recruitment in January 2017, and instantly knew it was the right career for me. I was working with a niche independent recruitment agency and although I really enjoyed the job, I wanted to gain experience within a recruitment business that covered multiple industries so that led me to joining the Accounts and Finance division at Pearson Whiffin Recruitment.
Being a specialist in the Accounts and Finance division I am able to recruit all levels of staff from Accounts Administrators right up to Financial Directors on a Permanent, Temporary or Contract basis and in any industry.
The motto I was brought up with was “treat others the way you wish to be treated” and that’s why I put my all into ensuring I give excellent Customer Service to everyone who I work with. One of the core values at Pearson Whiffin is Customer Service and I am proud to work for a company that shares the same values.
I started my recruitment career for a global agency specialising in Business Support. Starting with a cold desk and focusing on temporary recruitment, I achieved way over my yearly target and was promoted to Senior Consultant.
The last two years I have specialised in Accountancy recruitment covering all of Kent. The range of roles I recruit for include Accounts Assistants, Credit Controllers, Ledger Clerks all the way to Qualified Accountants.
Throughout my years working within the Recruitment industry I have gained extensive experience in the Accountancy market, recruiting professionals for temporary, contract and permanent roles.
I have a strong focus on building successful, on-going relationships with clients, as well as supporting my candidates to find their perfect new opportunity!
“Personable, fun and a pleasure to work with. Lee definitely puts you first and understands the situation you are in. Despite being in a commission-based environment, he never gives you the feeling that he would put “cutting a quick deal” before you. I am grateful to Lee for committing his time to understanding the culture of the company and doing so without judgement. Through his ability to understand the requirements for different positions, he has no trouble in finding the ideal candidates. Thanks to him I have appointed an incredible Senior HR Advisor. I would not hesitate to return to Lee if I were in need of another team member, and one day in the future even as a candidate myself.” – Anna – Global Head of HR (Client)
At Pearson Whiffin we believe that it is important to give something back to the local community. For a number of years we have shown our commitment to this belief by choosing a charity close to us, locally or with some connection to a member of the team to make a charitable donation to.
We donate £10 from every permanent placement made over the year to our charity of choice, along with organising an annual 5-a-side football tournament, whereby teams pay a small fee to enter which is also contributed to the organisation we have pledged to support. Everyone at Pearson Whiffin is very proud of the fact that our hard work will also benefit others less fortunate than ourselves.
Below are the charities we’ve supported to date:
We think everyone should take responsibility for their impact on the environment and lead by example from a business point of view. We actively encourage our team to be environmentally aware and our open door policy welcomes suggestions that improve our processes in line with this value. We operate a recycling bin program and our conscientious team have instigated a ‘car-share-to-work’ scheme to acknowledge the impact of CO2 emissions.
We ask you to please consider the environment before printing any pages from our website.
